Willow Toys carries five different styles of our wooden toy kitchens. Today I wanted to talk about one of the top selling styles. Liam’s wooden toy kitchen. This kitchen is styled after our most popular seller Ivy’s wooden toy kitchen. One day the phone rang. I pickup and said “hello Willow Toys this is Joe” like I have many times over the years. There was a woman on the other end. She and I talked for a bit about the wood we used and if it was real wood of plywood. I told here like all of our wooden toys the play kitchens are made with 100% real wood. Then she had a short story for me. She had been looking online for a long time for a wooden kitchen for your tow young boys. She had found mine and had been looking at them for a long time. The only issue was that her husband did not want his two boys playing with the Ivy’s kitchen as it has a curvy style and well is pretty. He thought it was not a boys kitchen. I then thought for just a moment and told her that I would be willing to design her one that had straight lines and would be less “girly” even know we had been selling this style for years to boys and girls. She was over the hill with joy. I then designed our Liam’s wooden play kitchen. The rest is history. We are happy to provide this option for family’s that find this style to be a better fit for them. A few yeas ago I was making one of our wooden play toy kitchens. I was looking at it and thinking of a way we could show off the kitchen a bit better online. It came to me that we could make a short video of the toy kitchen and show off all the sides of it without having to take photos and hoping that new visitors to WillowToys.com would see the photos and click them to view. I had already painted a small part off a wall in the shop green to use with my children to play with and make funny videos with. WE had only use it once or twice so this was a new opportunity to get some use form the green screen.
I made a lazy susan that would fit one of the toy kitchens on it. I painted it green also. I then set up the video camera and gave the wooden kitchen a slow spin. After it was down I use some software to turn the green wall behind the kitchen white as if to make the kitchen look like it was almost floating in the air. Here is our short video of Ivy’s wooden toy kitchen with a 360 degree view. If you like this video please share it with your friends and family. Thanks for stopping by our blog.
